Marco Antonio Ramírez Salinas is a Doctor in Computer Science (Technology and Computer Architecture) from Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña (UPC) in Barcelona, Spain. He received the M. S. degree in computing engineering from the Centro de Investigación en Computación (CIC), and the Electronic and Communications Engineer of the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería Mecánica y Eléctrica (ESIME), both from the National Polytechnic Institute (IPN) of Mexico. Is a fulltime Professor at the CIC-IPN in the three Graduate Programs available (DCC, MCC, MCIC) and collaborate in the Laboratory of Microtechnology and Embedded Systems (MICROSE). He leads computer architecture research team of the Lagarto Project that collaborates with the Barcelona Supercomputing Center (BSC). Currently, is the Coordinator of the “Red de Computación” in the IPN, as well as the Director of the CIC-IPN. His research focuses on Computer Architecture Design, Embedded System Design, Parallel Computing for HPC and Nanotechnology and Microtechnology Design and Microfabrication.
